The print, sign, scan loop is avoidable
The usual routine for signing one line of a document is absurd: print the whole thing, sign it, scan it back, and end up with a crooked grey image that is larger than the original file. It also assumes you own a printer and a scanner that both work. Drawing the signature once and saving it as an image removes every step of that loop.
Why a transparent background matters
A signature saved as a JPG comes with a white rectangle around it, and dropping that onto a document leaves an obvious white box across the page. A PNG with a transparent background sits directly on whatever is underneath, so it looks like it was signed on the page rather than pasted over it. That single difference is what separates a signature that looks real from one that clearly is not.
Getting a signature that looks like yours

- Sign at a comfortable size and let the tool scale it down. Small and slow looks stiff.
