Putting pictures together into one image is handy for before-and-after comparisons, simple collages, product line-ups and screenshots you want to share as a single file. Add your images, choose whether to place them horizontally, vertically or in a grid, set the spacing and background colour, and download the merged result. Everything is drawn on a canvas in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded.
Putting several pictures into one
There are two very different reasons to do this. One is comparison: a before and after side by side, three colour options next to each other, a set of screenshots showing a sequence. The other is practical: a form or a message that only accepts one image when you have four, or a printed sheet where you want several photos on one page. Both come down to the same operation.
Horizontal or vertical
The direction changes how the result reads. Side by side works for comparisons, because the eye moves left to right and treats the images as alternatives. Stacked vertically reads as a sequence or a story, which suits step by step screenshots and anything with an order. It also matters practically: a wide strip is awkward on a phone, while a tall stack scrolls naturally, so vertical is usually better for anything that will be viewed on mobile.
Getting a tidy result
- Resize the images to a matching height, or width, before combining them.
- A small gap between images reads better than edges touching.
- For before and after, keep the crop and zoom identical or the comparison is misleading.
- Export as PNG if the images contain text, and JPG if they are all photographs.
